Hundreds of Arlingtonians joined the County Board and County staff on Wednesday, March 27, at Kenmore Middle School for a Streetcar Town Hall. Board members and County staff updated the community on the Columbia Pike Streetcar project and took questions from the audience. Arlington recently invited transit experts from across the United States and Canada to share their experiences with building their streetcar systems.
Arlington County is in the initial stages of planning streetcar lines in two key areas – Columbia Pike and Crystal City. The two lines will eventually converge in Pentagon City. The Columbia Pike line is expected to be the first to go into operation.
